Greeting

With pride in being
the world's best,
we will keep making
things with heart.

In 2026, as Obitsu Plastic Manufacturing marks its 60th anniversary, we took on the challenge of displaying 1,000 OBITSUKEWPIE®/OBQP® dolls and were certified by Guinness World Records™ for the "Most Kewpie dolls on display." This record was made possible only by the support of everyone who has stood by Obitsu Plastic Manufacturing over the years.

Our certifications as a "Katsushika Brand" (Katsushika Machikoba Monogatari):
2009 – OBITSU BODY
2024 – Soft vinyl processing technology
As the culmination of our technology and originality, we are confident that these achievements are something to be proud of, not only in Japan but around the world.

Since our founding in 1966, we have been manufacturing OBITSUKEWPIE®/OBQP®, and the total number produced is estimated to have exceeded 100 million. Centered on our own factory in Katsushika, Tokyo, we make Japan-made Kewpie dolls in a wide variety of sizes and designs, and we quietly believe that our production may be the largest in the world.

What I am most proud of is the technical skill of Obitsu Plastic Manufacturing that produced these records, and the strength of the people who support it.

Soft vinyl processing techniques such as slush molding, rotational molding, coloring, and hair rooting have been refined and passed down over many years. Our craftspeople, staff, and partner factories take pride and passion in this technology as they approach their work every day. This technology and these people are, to me, our other "world's number one."

Cherishing the technology, trust, and sense of play we have inherited, and without fear of new challenges, we will continue to pursue "craftsmanship and value creation that only Obitsu can deliver." We thank you for your continued support of Obitsu Plastic Manufacturing.

Yuriko Maki
President & CEO
Obitsu Plastic Manufacturing Co., Ltd.

Since our founding in 1966, our corporate philosophy has been "a commitment to Made in Japan, and craftsmanship made with heart."

Working alongside our late former president, Saburo Obitsu, from the very beginning, I have devoted myself to domestic manufacturing for nearly half a century with Obitsu Plastic Manufacturing.

Even in difficult economic times, we have continued to produce consistently high-quality products in small batches, and thanks to our customers, we have never had to actively seek out business since our founding — requests simply keep coming to us.

In recent years, exports of our patented product "OBITSU BODY," patented both in Japan and overseas, as well as requests for custom manufacturing from abroad, have been increasing, and awareness of our technology continues to grow worldwide.

We have also been invited to conventions introducing Japanese pop culture held in Los Angeles and Seattle, where we gave talks on our craftsmanship. Through these experiences, we are confident that our sincere approach to making things is valued overseas as well.

Going forward, we will continue to honor the will of our former president, cherish the relationships we have built, and pass on "Slush Molding" — a local industry of Katsushika, Tokyo — into the future, while pursuing OEM manufacturing and Obitsu original products across soft vinyl figures, doll figures, amusement parts, and many other categories.

We hope you will continue to look forward to Obitsu Plastic Manufacturing, a company that remains committed to "Made in Japan."
