Makeup, repairs, and services
Q. Do you offer a makeup service?
We do not offer a makeup service.
Q. The product looked dirty, so I wiped it fairly hard with a cloth and the paint came off. Can I request a repair?
We do not accept repairs.
For initial defects found within 10 days of purchase, we will exchange the product only if it has not been modified in any way, so please check the contents within 10 days of the product's arrival.
Q. How can I remove color transfer from the body?
With current technology, there is no way to remove color transfer completely.
As noted in the instruction manual of finished dolls and on the body packaging, color may transfer if the body is left in contact with dark-colored cloth or clothing. Please handle with care.
Q. The magnets on the soles of the feet often come off. Can you recommend an adhesive?
We use Konishi Bond Aron Alpha gel-type adhesive.
Please note that using too much adhesive can cause the magnet to protrude.
About products
Q. I would like to know the actual color of OBITSU BODY. Are the images on your website the closest to the real product?
The way colors appear in images varies greatly depending on your environment (PC monitor or smartphone model), and colors may also differ between production lots. We apologize, but we cannot say that any particular image is the closest to the actual product.
Q. Do you plan to sell unrooted caps?
We have no plans to at this time.
Q. Do you plan to sell unpainted versions of the heads used in your finished dolls?
We have no plans to at this time.
Q. The product page for a certain doll says "Sales have ended." Will it be re-released?
For finished dolls whose product pages indicate that sales have ended, the materials used are often difficult to obtain again, so they will not be re-released with the same specifications, although we may sell them in a different form.
When we do so, we will always announce it in advance on X (formerly Twitter) and our blog (both in Japanese), so please check there.
Q. I missed the order period, but I really want it!
There may be sales of spare or canceled stock.
When we do so, we will always announce it in advance on X (formerly Twitter) and our blog (both in Japanese), so please check there.
Q. I would like to replace the doll eyes. Are there other companies' products that can be used? Do the head and doll eyes have to be made by the same company to fit?
We basically do not verify fit with other companies' products or take size measurements, so we are unable to answer.
However, Obitsu Hitomi has a larger iris overall than commonly sold plastic eyes, so compatibility is often low. Please be aware of this.
Q. I lost or broke a part. Please sell me just that part.
Please see "Replacement Parts" in the category for the body you need at our official online shop, OBITSU SHOP (Japan only).
Parts that are not in that category are not sold individually. Thank you for your understanding.
Q. What does the "○ cm" in a body name refer to? What is measured, and from where to where?
Basically it is the approximate overall height from the soles of the feet on the ground to the top, but depending on when the body was developed, it is either "○ cm with the head attached" or "○ cm as the body alone."
If you would like to know the size of the body as sold, please see the Body Spec page.
Q. I would like to use the body as the body of another company's doll (○○○). Is it compatible?
We basically do not verify compatibility with other companies' products or take size measurements, so we are unable to answer.
Q. Can I attach a ○ head to a ○ cm body?
Even if a head is labeled "○○ cm," it may be physically compatible with bodies of other sizes, but the result may deviate from the proportions of a typical human figure.
Please note that we do not verify the balance of each combination or provide images of heads attached to bodies of each size.
Q. Can I use Obikyu (Ball Joints) with a ○ cm OBITSU BODY? / My Obikyu broke. Can I replace it?
Obikyu (Ball Joints) are auxiliary parts for modification and customization; they are not used in OBITSU BODY at all.
They are not compatible without modification, so using them as repair parts requires a certain level of craftsmanship.
We basically do not answer questions about modification methods. Thank you for your understanding.
■ 11 cm
About products
Q. Are the 22–26 cm adapter parts and auxiliary washers compatible with the 11 cm body?
They can be attached, but since each part was originally made for its own size, we cannot guarantee that they will meet your needs.
We cannot guarantee that they will suit your intended use.
Sizes
Q. What size are the magnets used in the 11 cm body and 11 cm soft vinyl shoes?
We use magnets 4 mm in diameter and 1.5 mm thick.
Q. What are the type, dimensions, and material of the small screw that fixes the head and neck of the 11 cm OBITSU BODY?
We use a steel B-type pan-head screw, size 2 × 6, with a trivalent white-chromate finish.
■ 24 cm
About products
Q. When I bend the knee, part of the knee joint looks chipped.
The knee parts move independently, so how the joint looks changes depending on how far the knee is bent.
With the knee bent, you can hide the part with the hole by moving the knee part, so please try this method first.
If that does not solve it, we will check it for you; please contact us through the contact form (English accepted).
■ 27 cm
About products
Q. Are the "SBH type / soft bust type" and "normal type" head adapters for OBITSU BODY27 W compatible?
The SBH type / soft bust type and the normal type have different neck structures, so they are not compatible.
(Soft bust / SBH are fixed with an eye screw; normal type is fixed with a screw.)
■ 48 / 50 cm
About products
Q. The Obitsu development department blog announced a minor change to OBITSU BODY 48 and 50 cm. Have all bodies currently available at OBITSU SHOP been replaced with the updated version?
At OBITSU SHOP (our online shop), all bodies have been replaced with the updated version.
However, in rare cases the previous version may remain at wholesale partners' online shops or stores.
■ 11 cm / 22 cm / 24 cm / 26 cm
About products
Q. There is a thin film-like part or a dent on the hand parts. Is this a defect?
Those are called "flash" and "runner marks," which occur during production and are considered within the range of non-defective products.
If the shape is something other than the above, please contact us through the contact form on our website (English accepted).
Q. What grit of file do you recommend for cleaning up flash on hand parts?
Files and sandpaper are not suitable. We recommend using sharp, fine-tipped nippers or a hobby knife.
Please note that we accept no responsibility for mistakes or damage, so work at your own risk.
Q. Please tell me about rooted cap compatibility.
Each type of doll we release has a number near the back of the head (e.g., MM-01).
When we release a new doll, if it is compatible, we add the names of compatible products to the rooted cap's product page, so please check there. (It may take some time until it is updated.)
Also, we basically do not verify compatibility with other companies' products, so we are unable to answer.
