Regarding the Sale of Custom Doll Parts Using OBITSU BODY®, and the Handling of OEM Products Using OBITSU BODY®

We have recently received inquiries from many customers regarding the handling of OBITSU BODY®, so we would like to answer them here.
"Regarding the sale of custom dolls, parts, and similar items"
Our product OBITSU BODY® is a "base body" designed so that customers can freely customize and enjoy it.
For this reason, we are generally not involved in how customers use the product after purchase, including making costumes, doll heads, or custom parts to fit it, or posting photographs featuring OBITSU BODY® as a model.
If you sell works made for OBITSU BODY® at events, through personal mail order, or similar channels, it is not mandatory, but we would appreciate it if you could note "© Obitsu Plastic Manufacturing" or "OBITSU BODY®" somewhere, such as on the product packaging.
"Regarding permission to sell, or restrictions on selling, products sized to fit OBITSU bodies"
Provided that you do not reproduce our products and do not infringe our patents, there is generally no issue, and we generally do not involve ourselves in such matters.
We are also not involved in products that involve third-party copyrights or character licensing rights.
In such cases, please contact the seller or distributor of the relevant product.
"May I photograph an OBITSU BODY and trace it, including the joint details, for my own illustrations or manga?"
We ask that you refrain from tracing (copying exactly), including joint details, as "OBITSU BODY" or "doll base body." The same applies to the small accessory items we sell.
"Regarding media coverage of dolls"
There is no issue if the doll is our finished product, or a combination of our head and body products.
However, when featuring dolls owned by users, some owners lovingly combine our products with those of other manufacturers.
We would appreciate it if you could let us check the images before any media coverage.
"Regarding the handling of OEM products"
We currently ask each manufacturer using OBITSU BODY® in an OEM product to note on the product that "OBITSU BODY® is used in this product."
However, regarding how OEM products are handled after sale, we generally allow the use of OBITSU BODY® based on the trust relationship with each business partner.
Therefore, for matters concerning the handling of OEM products that we manufacture and sell using OBITSU BODY®, or of custom products that other manufacturers produce and sell using OBITSU BODY®, please contact the respective manufacturer directly.
