This is the very first and most important step in making a product.
We turn the illustration into a three-dimensional form, checking size and specifications as we work, using clay and other materials.
This prototype is then duplicated in wax.

STAFF COMMENT

We make the prototype and wax model, then move on to mold making.
This is the fundamental work of moving to mass production while accounting for a shrinkage of a few percent at each stage.
Any flaw in the prototype is carried straight into the mass-produced product, so we keep checking as we work.
